So Anna spent a few days of her spring break on a Pioneer trek. Here are some pictures that I found and thought I would post!

This is her family. Her ma and pa where very good friends of mine, so I know she was in goods hands.

I am not sure what they are doing here, maybe breakfast....maybe trying to stay warm?

Taking a rest, or waiting for lunch?

This might be why everyone was sitting around a waiting!

Or maybe it was because of this....

This is when they took the men for the 'Mormon Battalion' and the women and to keep going. Anna said that the girls in the back keep pushing and ran over them.

They had to put their wagon together before they could even start. Great team work!!

The kids walking. I wonder if they sang as they walked and walked and walked?

Some of Anna's sisters for the days of Trek

The boys had to carry the girls across the river. One boy in our ward commented about how that was the best part of the trek!
ummm.... I wonder.

The classic family picture. I wonder if this was taken before or after the trek. They look a little too happy to be at the end.

Deep in thought. Anna really did have a great time. She kept talking about how much fun it was. The first two days they were out the weather was so nice, then all of the sudden Friday night a big storm came through and the temperatures dropped to close to below freezing. They had planned to have the kids come back to the stake center to have the testimony meeting, but once the rain and wind hit Friday night they wanted those kids out of there fast. Anna said her tent flooded and she (along with all the other girls in her family) had to 'sleep' in the Davis car. Another family had their tent collapsed and all the kids ended up soaking wet and cold. Even with all that Anna had a great time along with all the other Youth. What a great experience for them to go through and what a sacrifice for them to give up 3 days of their spring break to participate in it.

What a wonderful activity for the youth. Sure wish there had been something like that when I was young. How does a family reunion at Martins Cove sound?
What a fun thing to do! And the pictures were great - maybe a reunion at Martin's Cove would be fun.
